- Why do I

You need to connect to phonewalared.com and download
the dialer used for making international calls. You
need the browser to get connected to the website. Phonewalared.com
regularly updates the information available for users
including adding onto the list of frequently asked questions
where you may find answers to most of your questions.
So do login regularly.
- Which Internet
browser can I use?
The phonewalared Internet Telephony works best with
Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 & above or Netscape
Navigator 4.5 to 4.7 & 6.1. Also, make sure you
set your Preferences to accept cookies.
- What is a
Dialer and why do I require it?
A Dialer is a software program, which will enable you
to make your international calls from your PC. You need
to download the Dialer only once (unless there is an
updated version in which case you will be requested
to download the new Dialer).
- How do I
make a phone call?
After you log in with your phonewalared Account ID and
password, the phonewalared applet will pop up. Dial
the phone number you want to call by clicking the numbers
on the keypad. You can also click on the phone number
display box to set the cursor and use your keyboard
to type the phone number.
Click the "Send" button or press "Enter"
on your keyboard to dial the number.
Adjust the speaker and microphone volume with the slider
buttons on the phonewalared.com keypad.
Hang up by clicking the keypad's "End" button.
To Redial, click on the "Send" button to recall
the last phone number dialed. The number will be inserted
in the phone number display box. Click on "Send"
again to place the call.
- Do I need
to logon to www.phonewalared.com each time I want to
make a call?
No, you need to connect to Phonewalared.com only for
downloading the Dialer and to get more information about
PC-to-Phone. You can make calls from the Dialer without
logging on to phonewalared.com every time.
- How can I
improve the sound quality of the call?
One of the factors that can affect sound quality is
the Internet bandwidth available during your call. Try
to avoid making calls during peak Internet usage hours
when traffic is high. Another tip is to use a headset
with a built-in microphone. This will help eliminate
echo and ensure better sound. Adjust the microphone
volume so that your speech is not too loud.
- How can I
improve the echo on my PC-to-Phone calls?
We recommend the following:
a. Speak with a headset instead of a microphone.
b. If you are using a microphone, hold it away from
the speakers to avoid having the sound from your speakers
recirculate into your microphone.
c. Lower the volume on your speakers.
d. Check with your sound card manufacturer to be sure
you are using the latest drivers.
e. Use a direct phone jack. A split line or extension
cord between your phone jack and computer can enhance
the echo.
- Why do I
get a distorted or choppy sound sometimes?
The distorted or choppy sound is due to data packets
of the speech being lost or dropped. This could be due
to a bad Internet connection, low bandwidth, sound card
problems, insufficient memory, or a slow CPU. Always
ensure that the latest sound card driver is installed.
It is advisable to close unnecessary programs to conserve
memory and CPU load, when you use the Prepaid Calls
Service. Try to make calls during non-peak hours to
ensure better bandwidth.
- I get a
busy tone after my call is connected, what is the cause?
It means that the phone number that you've dialed is
engaged or busy. The phone gateway that the PC-to-Phone
Service communicates with is unable to terminate the
call automatically. Click hang up to terminate the call
manually and try again later.
- How can
I improve the sound quality?
Following are some recommendations that may help improve
the sound quality of your calls.
a. A high-quality full-duplex sound card, and be sure
you are using the latest drivers (check with the sound
card manufacturer).
b. Using the cleanest (uninterrupted) and fastest Internet
connection possible.
c. Close as many browser windows and applications as
possible.

which enhances the quality for both parties.
Q. I have already been using

Q. Where do I plug in the Yap
Phone?
A. The Yap Phone is a USB device that plugs into
a USB port on your computer.
Q. How do I make a call on the
Yap Phone?
A. After you log onto the Internet and launch the yap
phone software and the Yap Phone software, there are
three ways that you can place a call. You can:
1) Simply lift the device from its cradle and dial the
number as you would on a regular phone and then press
the "@" symbol on the Yap Phone
2) Dial the number with the keyboard and then press
the "@" symbol on the Yap Phone
3) Use the mouse pointer to click on the number pad
on the Net2Phone software and then press the "@"
symbol on the Yap Phone.
Note: All calls made through Net2Phone should be dialed
as if you are in the United States, no matter where
in the world you are located or calling.

A. Yes. In some cases, Windows needs to access the USB
drivers from the CDROM.
Q. The Yap Phone software opens
every time I reboot my computer. Can I change this?
A. In order to stop the Yap Phone software from starting
up every time you boot up the computer, you need to
remove it from the Start Up menu. To do so, simply go
to Start-->Settings-->Taskbar-->Remove. Then
click on the startup menu to expand it, select the Yap
Phone and click on "remove". This will not
remove the software from your computer, but will stop
the software from launching at start-up.
Q. Since I installed my Yap
Phone, all of the sound from my computer is coming from
the phone instead of my computer speakers.
A. In order to change your computer's sound setting
back to the speakers, you need to go into to Start-->Settings-->Control
Panel-->MultimediA. Make sure that the preferred
device for playback and recording is your sound card
and not the Yap Phone. If it is the Yap Phone, click
on the drop down arrow and choose your sound card. Make
sure to hit OK after you make any changes.
Q. When I dial a number on
the Yap Phone, it does not appear on the Net2Phone
GUI. What should I do?
A. If it does not appear, close the Net2Phone client
software and launch it again. If this does not solve
the problem, reboot your computer.
Q. Windows is recognizing
my Yap Phone as a generic USB device, and not as a
Yap Phone. What should I do?
A. If Windows sees the Yap Phone as a generic USB
device, not as the Yap Phone, then you should first
ensure that the software is installed correctly. You
can do so by going to Start-->Run-->
C:\Windows\Inf. When the folder opens, look
for a file called "Yaploader". If the file
is not there, reinstall the software.
Q. I have tried to reinstall
the Yap Phone software and I continue to get an error
about a dll file. What does that mean?
A. It means that the Yap Phone software is running
while you are trying to reinstall it. Simply right
click on the "at sign" (@) which is on the
Windows Taskbar and select Exit from the menu.
Q. What should I do if I plugged
in the Yap Phone before installing the software?
A. You must remove the listing for the unknown device
from your system. To do this, you should right-click
on My Computer and select Properties. In the system
properties window, select the device manager tab and
scroll down to other devices. If "unknown device"
is listed, you should remove it. If there is no listing,
scroll down further to Universal Serial Bus Controller.
If there is a listing for "unknown USB device",
it must be removed. This should allow you to continue
to install the software, and then successfully attach
the Yap Phone.
Q. When I installed the software,
why was I not prompted for an account number and PIN?
A. If you had previously installed the Net2Phone software,
your existing account number and PIN are being utilized
by the new software.
